Les Oxley is Professor in Economics University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand (http://www.econ.canterbury.ac.nz/people/oxley.shtml); Adjunct Professor, Chiang Mai University, Thailand and ‘Affiliate’ MOTU, New Zealand (http://www.motu.org.nz/about/affiliates.php). He has a wide range of interests in applied econometrics including financial econometrics; energy economy; cliometrics; environmental economics; economic growth and the knowledge economy. He applies mathematical and econometric modelling techniques to economic systems. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand; the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand and the International Environmental Modelling and Software Society.
