Dear iEMSs members, In our on-going efforts to improve the quality of the iEMSs conferences, we would like to hear some comments and suggestion from participants of all our past meetings. What was good, what should be done again, what needs improvement? Any ideas on how to make the sessions and workshops even better? Are you happy with the conference format? Do you want more plenaries, or more discussion, or more talks? Do you think we make the right awards? How can we improve the quality of presentations?

The book "Environmental Modelling, Software and Decision Support: state of the art and new perspective" can be preorered. Edited by Anthony J. Jakeman, Alexey A. Voinov, Andrea E. Rizzoli, Serena H. Chen it collects the outcomes of many workshops which were held at iEMSs 2006. The book deals with the integrated approach to the complex and multi-disciplinary nature of environmental problems. In fact, modelling and software have become key instruments used to promote sustainability and improve environmental decision processes, especially through systematic integration of various knowledge and data and their ability to foster learning and help make predictions. This book presents the current state-of-the-art in environmental modelling and software and identifies the future challenges in the field. |

The IDEA book series addresses the increasing importance for interdisciplinary systems research that relates to assessing policy and resource management options that could lead to improved sustainability outcomes. iEMSs 2008 was succesfully held in Barcelona The latest conference in the iEMSs series was held in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It focused on integrating sciences and information technology for environmental assessment and decision making. More than 270 participants attended the congress, We'll keep you posted on the outcomes of the conference on this website. More info available on the conference website. UPDATE: the Proceedings of iEMSs 2008 are already available on this website! |
